MLE Fashion Show & Exhibition
After an extensive and competitive tender process, including 3D visuals of the proposed fashion show and catwalk design, and on-site meetings with our project managers, MLE selected Event Production Group to oversee the technical production at Event City. Spanning four different zones—Catwalk Show, Conference Area, Lifestyle Exhibition, and Food Hall—the venue welcomed over 10,000 guests throughout the weekend.
Our team, consisting of 10 expert technicians and project managers, was kept busy with the comprehensive AV equipment hire needed across the vast venue. We provided a full range of services, including AV & projection, staging, lighting, audio, camerawork, draping, and printed graphics for the catwalk area. Additionally, we supplied vision equipment, audio, lighting, and staging for the conference area, as well as various other AV items and on-site technical support throughout the event.
AV & Projection
Twin projection screens, combined with high-power HD projectors, were used to display event logos, show timetables, sponsor slides, and a live camera feed. Our vision department specified professional switching equipment to ensure seamless transitions on screen.
Catwalk Lighting
Our lighting designers faced the challenge of creating a maximum atmosphere around the catwalk without impacting the nearby exhibitor stands. We incorporated LED and generic fixtures to highlight the models and clothing. A secondary on-stage effect lighting system, comprising LED Pixels to wash the backdrop in vivid color for each scene, and intelligent moving heads, added atmosphere during the shows and interest to the backdrop itself. A large freestanding truss structure was utilised to house the lighting, keeping costs within budget and avoiding the rigging costs associated with the venue’s in-house rigging provider.
Catwalk Backdrop
A simple white backdrop made up of set flats was chosen for its clean and crisp appearance, as well as its cost-efficiency. This ‘blank canvas’ allowed programmable lighting and branding to be used to add value and create a different flavour for each show.
Sound System
We supplied a powerful sound system for the catwalk area, capable of ensuring exhibitor and guest announcements were heard across the exhibition space. The system also supported background music playback and a variety of entertainment, including live music performances, bands, comedians, and DJs throughout the weekend. Our on-site sound technicians were on hand to play specific music stings and playlists chosen by each designer to represent their brand.
Conference Area
The secondary conference area was active throughout the weekend, featuring inspirational seminars on a variety of business topics. We provided staging, lighting, sound, vision equipment, and technical support to ensure a smooth and engaging experience for all attendees.
